Mechanical	Convert pencil drawings, blueprints, brown lines and plotted drawings to vectors so that the resulting CAD drawings can be edited in your CAD program
Machining or Cutting	Draftsman is the program of choice for hundreds of job shops, where a finished product is the goal. It is used in many cutting applications, including laser cutting, engraving, flame cutting, wire EDM, milling, routing and other point to point cutting applications.  The images that are converted may be outline logos, or thin line sketches like a heart that might be engraved on a necklace. Small images can ve vectorized and then scaled up many times, maintaining smooth contours.  Draftsman produces a vector drawing that is made of long lines and arcs. The image can be edited with Draftsman PLUS without inturrupting or reordering the tool path. This advantage allows the cutting tool to stay down the maximum amount of time, reducing cutting time and tool damage.
Mapping	Use Draftsman PLUS to create high quality coutour maps, platt maps, building sites and zone maps.  The vector maps can be imported into mapping programs to perform a multitude of operations, such as finding the perimeter and ares size of any given boundary. The long polylines are ideal to use in AutoCAD and other CAD programs for conversion from flat 2-D drawings into 3-D drawings.  Draftsman PLUS can import scanned images that can then have sections manually outlined for the purpose of color filling. The raster and vector hybrid file can then be printed to create colorful presentation maps.
Space Planning Architectural	Scan drawings of floor plans and use the drawings to arrange office space, or to lay out HVAC, heating, ventilation or air conditioning ducts.
Illustrations	Update shop drawings, technical manuals and sketches. Scanned drawings are often not sharp enough for publication. Draftsman PLUS' vector drawings are excellent for printing purposes. Old illustrations can be scanned, vectorized and updated before sending to the printer.
